Island Retreat Residence

Designed as a private family retreat, this second-row Seabrook Island home brings the relaxed character of a New England coastal residence to the Lowcountry. Created in collaboration with Transitions Design Studio and Meagan Wernikoff Interior Design, the home was thoughtfully planned around the way its owners wanted to gather, recharge, and spend time with future generations.

Every space serves that experience. A custom bunk room gives grandchildren a place of their own, while a home gym, elevator, expansive screened porches, and comfortable guest accommodations make extended stays feel effortless. In the owners’ bath, an indoor-outdoor shower includes a carefully framed view toward the ocean—an unexpected detail that turns an everyday routine into a distinctly coastal experience.

Above it all, a rooftop terrace captures sweeping 180-degree ocean views, creating the perfect setting for morning coffee, sunset cocktails, and evenings beneath the stars. Completed over an 18-month build, the home balances timeless coastal architecture with the comfort, function, and craftsmanship needed for generations of family memories.
